The Group of Computer Networks, Software Engineering and Systems (GREat)  is composed of teachers, researchers and students of post-graduate and graduate of the Federal University of Ceará (UFC) and other Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). Since its creation in 2002, GREat is being coordinated by Prof. Rossana M. C. Andrade.

The group develops research in three areas: Computer Networking, Software Engineering and Systems, and performs research and development projects in partnership with other educational institutions and businesses.

GREat is linked to the Computer Science Department (DC), which is accredited by the Law of Information Technology (Law 10,176). In the UFC, the GREat maintains close collaboration with the Department of Teleinformatics Engineering  (DETI), Course of Architecture and Urban and Regional Center of Ofiologia (NUROF).

GREat is also registered in the CNPq Directory of Groups, with leadership of Prof. José Neuman and Prof. Rossana Andrade.
